THE COCK AND THE JEWEL

A Cock, scratching the ground for something to eat, turned up a Jewel that had by chance been dropped there. "Ho!" said he, "a fine thing you are, no doubt, and, had your owner found you, great would his joy have been. But for me, give me a single grain of corn before all the jewels in the world.

Moral Lesson:

There are some things that are important for some and not for others. Also, there are a lot of things more important than riches.

Reflection:

The cock ignored the jewel and asked for food, because he needs food, and he can't use the jewel. In life, there are things that needs to be given more importance than riches. Basic needs are more important than gold, because without gold, you will still live, but without basic needs, like food, you might just die.

THE GOOSE THAT LAID THE GOLDEN EGGS

A cottager and his wife had a Goose that laid a golden egg every day. They supposed that the Goose must contain a great lump of gold in its inside, and in order to get the gold they killed it. Having done so, they found to their surprise that the Goose differed in no respect from their other geese. The foolish pair, thus hoping to become rich all at once, deprived themselves of the gain of which they were assured day by day.

Moral Lesson:

Each person must not give in to greed, as greed leads to nothing but failure and problems.

Reflection:

This story teaches us the value of contentedness. When we receive blessings, we must be grateful for it. we should not be like the couple who demanded for more gold and found nothing. The couple gave in to greed. Greed is sin, and it will cause nothing good.

Movie Review

MY REVIEW ON THE MOVIE "MEGAMIND"

In the movie Megamind by Dreamworks, there was an emphasis in "change". When I saw the trailer, I thought that Megamind is a superhero, but it turns out he was the villain. The thought of a villain being the lead star boggled my head. As I kept watching, I slowly learned the reason of such mystery.

I said earlier about the movie's emphasis of change. Here are particular events, which I noticed that showed change, be it significant or not.

Megamind, the villain, who had the plan to maintain fear in the city, turned out to be the city's only chance against Tighten, the superhero who Megamind created himself after Megamind thought he killed the former superhero Metroman.

Tighten, the superhero Megamind created, was Hal, an amateur cameraman. Megamind disguised as Hal's "space dad", with a plan to make Hal his new enemy. But then, Hal fell in love and was broken-hearted. Megamind's dream battle happens, but then, Tighten changed, and he bacame a villain.

Megamind changed from villain to hero, while Tighten changed from hero to villain.

The movie tells us the great possibilities of change. Everyone is given a chance to change. Change is for the better. We will not live long without change. If there is a change, never dread it. Instead, we should adapt to this change. Otherwise, how would we grow?

a trip to remember

THE FIELD TRIP

August 27, 2010. This date has been significant to my high school life. That was the day that I need to wake up too early for the sake of an enjoyment, in a different place other than my hangout places. In short, August 27 is the day of our FIELD TRIP.

I woke up that day an hour ahead of the usual time. My routine was not the usual, either. only a few rice and a hot drink. No taking of baths, just a clean face towel and warm water. I got all my things ready: a chart(I also used it last year for taking notes), extra clothes, snacks, jacket and my mother's phone(for pictures). Also, I got a pair of short pants and slippers(I'll tell the reason later).

I came to the assembly site, the parking lot in front of the school. The van where I was assigned, the last van(deja vu?), is late, but not much. When I went in the van, I saw some familiar faces. Some were my classmates, some are those that I know, some are strangers, and most are the same people that were the people whom I sat with last year. The vans started and we all go to the venue, Malaybalay City/Maramag, Bukidnon.

The first stop, is the Pope John XXIII Seminary. I saw that it was a little far away from the highway(it's holy, that is why). I thought we're going to listen in there, in the end we just took pictures, ate breakfast, and left. Next, we went to the Carmelite Chapel, not far from the seminary. The chapel's architecture is something I haven't seen before in any other chapel. after a short while, we left the area.

Afterwards, we went to the next stop: Bukidnon State University. There we had a short tour around(or not even halfway) the campus. Then afterwards we left.

After the university, we went to the Kaamulan Grounds. I was astonished at the place's display of nature! The place was simple, it has a few buildings, but the simplicity gives its (major, major) magnificence.

If you visit Kaamulan, you would pass first by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, which was our next stop. the place's view is a plaza, much like our own here. The Sanggunian serves as a Senate prototype, laying out laws for the city.

Then, we went to "another" school, San Isidro College. there they have a special wing of the school where the whole place resembles a hospital: ICU, wards etc. they also have replicas of the different positions of bandage wraps.

RR Spring Resort. The next stop. Also the cause of the rise of the "reremons"(ask them for further details). when we arrived, the heat is scorching! Even though, the students endured to spec the rumored "better than Waig". Actually, it has a few aces over Waig Spring Resort. We left afterwards.

And now, the most awaited! My van mate woke up after sensing that it's near. Guess what he's waiting for? Obviously, WAIG! This is the place, where we would plunge into its waters. There, we treasured every moment. Sadly, we left.

We went to Crystal Sugar Milling. It was under repair when we came. what's worse visitor numbers are limited. To be the last group is the greatest suffering. Too bad it was us. I learned a lot in that tour.

Our last stop(which should be not) is Central Mindanao University. Unfortunately, due to the lack of time, the other stops are cancelled. Even in CMU, we didn't get off our vans!

On the way home. All the vans stopped at the fruit stands. Then we resumed our journey, returning home.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY

I am Karl Jasson B. Pios. I live in #221 PMH Road, Camp Phillips, Bukidnon. I am the youngest of

three children. When I was born on August 5, 1996, my parents gave me the name Karl Jasson, from two

basketball players of the NBA, Karl Malone and Jason Kidd(although Ia have a Jasson of double "s")

for they want me to be a basketball player.

When I was a small child, I had a lot of speech difficulties. But then when I grew older, I was able to

solve it. Also, socializing is my biggest weakness. I only had a handful of friends, so there's very few of

them.

Ever since I was born, my parents observed many singing potentials. I was the loudest baby in the

hospital. Although I am an average singer, and I won half of the contests I joined, though I never gave

up. Well, I don't just know how to sing. In fact, I also built my reputation as a smart student, well that's

what they say.
